Can You Park Hop at Any Time at Disney World?
Yes. Current Disney World Park Hopper rules allow a second theme park at any time during park hours after you enter your first park, subject to capacity.
01 · Current rule
The second park no longer has a universal 2:00 PM start
Disney’s published Park Hopper rule says a guest with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass may visit another theme park at any time of day during park hours after entering the first park. The rule applies to the move into the second park; it does not remove the need to have valid admission or satisfy any requirement attached to the first park entry.
The destination park must be open when you arrive. Disney also makes every hop subject to that park’s capacity, so the benefit does not create an unconditional right to enter every park at every moment.
There is no general 2:00 PM Park Hopper start. Enter the first park, then the next park may be visited during its operating hours, subject to capacity.
02 · First entry
Handle the first park before trying to hop
Disney says theme park reservations may still be required for Annual Passholders and guests using certain non-dated tickets. When a reservation is required, the guest must reserve and enter that first park before visiting another park.
Annual Passholders have additional first-entry rules. Disney says a Passholder may instead enter without a reservation on a good-to-go day or after 2:00 PM, except at Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays. Pass blockout dates still apply. That Annual Pass entry exception is separate from the Park Hopper start rule.

03 · Capacity
A reservation inside the next park does not guarantee entry
Disney specifically warns that Park Hopper benefits may not guarantee access to a park for a dining reservation, Droid Depot, Savi’s Workshop, or another pre-booked experience. The destination park can become unavailable to Park Hopper guests because of capacity even when a separate reservation exists inside it.
If Park Hopper entry becomes unavailable at a theme park, Disney says guests will be notified in real time through a My Disney Experience push notification. Availability can change by day, so a successful hop on one date does not establish a rule for another date.
- Keep My Disney Experience notifications enabled for real-time capacity notices.
- Do not treat a dining or experience confirmation as park admission.
- Check the destination park’s operating hours for the actual visit date.
- Apply the blockout dates printed for the Annual Pass being used.
04 · Quick check
Verify four conditions before changing parks
A valid hop depends on the admission, the first entry, the destination’s hours, and current capacity. Checking those four items keeps the “any time” wording from hiding the remaining restrictions.
- Every guest has a ticket with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass.
- Every guest has entered the required first park for that day.
- The destination park is open when the party expects to arrive.
- The app is not reporting that Park Hopper entry is unavailable there.
Park Hopper removes the one-park-per-day limit; it does not override admission validity, first-entry rules, operating hours, blockout dates, or capacity.
