Can You Bring Food and Water Into Disney World?
Yes. Learn Disney World’s current outside-food, water-bottle, cooler-size, ice, glass, alcohol and Animal Kingdom straw rules.
01 · Allowed items
Food and nonalcoholic drinks may enter for self-consumption
Disney permits guests to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverage items into its theme parks and water parks for their own consumption. Water fits the nonalcoholic-beverage rule, whether carried in an allowed non-glass bottle or another permitted container.
Disney asks guests to inform a Security Cast Member about food items when entering the park. All bags and other items may be screened, and Disney reserves the right not to allow an item even when it is not specifically listed in the general rules.
Outside food is allowed, but the food, drink, packaging, cooler, and ice must each satisfy the published restrictions.

03 · Coolers and ice
Stay within the size limit and use reusable ice packs
Disney prohibits any suitcase, bag, cooler or backpack—with or without wheels—that is larger than 24 inches long, 15 inches wide and 18 inches high in a theme park or water park. The measurements apply to the container, not just its interior compartment.
Loose ice and dry ice are not permitted in those containers. Disney explicitly recommends reusable ice packs. A wheeled cooler is not automatically prohibited, but it must remain within the same maximum dimensions and comply with every other property rule.
- Maximum length: 24 inches (61 centimeters).
- Maximum width: 15 inches (38 centimeters).
- Maximum height: 18 inches (46 centimeters).
- Loose ice: prohibited.
- Dry ice: prohibited.
- Reusable ice packs: recommended by Disney.
04 · Easy-to-miss limits
Animal Kingdom and glass containers have extra cautions
The property rules prohibit glass containers, with a stated exception for small containers such as baby food jars. Disney’s outside-food FAQ separately says allowed food and drink must not be in glass containers, so a non-glass container is the uncomplicated choice for ordinary snacks and beverages.
Plastic straws are prohibited at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, Disney’s water parks and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. That restriction can affect a drink brought from outside even when the drink itself is allowed.
- Use non-glass food and drink containers.
- Do not pack alcoholic beverages for a theme park visit.
- Do not bring a plastic straw into Disney’s Animal Kingdom or a Disney water park.
- Present food items during the security screening process.
